  1. Support Geospatial Data

The GEO* functions (such as GEOADD) operate on sorted sets but the score is a 52bit geohash integer, these are easily identified when viewing sorted sets in Redsmin, so it would be helpful to show the geohash converted to a lat, lon or perhaps even provide an option to view them rendered on a map?

  3. Support Azure Redis cache connection string as-is

Support Azure Redis cache connection string as-is - it's just a need to parse the format into the parameters you already support.

  4. Support binary (raw) keys

Unfortunately, redsmin does not support binary redis keys. You should support binary hash keys (field names) as well.

  5. beautify the json values

say i'm working with a key that has a json-encoded object as a value

there is the "export to json" button that brings up the textarea from which i can copy the value

i suggest having a "browse json" or "beautify json" next to it which would bring up something like what https://jsonview.com/ does

i actually have it installed so i tried a workaround of going to 'data:application/json;{"foo":"bar"}' in my browser but it didn't work saying the json is invalid. so i ended up pasting the json into https://www.functions-online.com/json_decode.html to make it easier to read

    thank you for the amazing…

  6. Add monitoring for PubSub commands in Redis

The primary purpose of Redis in my architecture is for its Publish/Subscribe functionality. I'd like if Redsmin let me monitor the data being passed through my PubSub channels.

  8. Allow multiple users to manage the same instances

I have my own redsmin account but also manage services for others who use redsmin (in many cases in the future this will likely be on my recommendation) - it would be useful to be able to connect to those instances as well as my own without logging out of my own account and on using their name.

I suppose, in theory, this could be bodged by installing redis-proxy multiple times but perhaps it would be better if redis-proxy could use more than one key or if there was a simple way to invite another user to access the same…

  9. Self-hosted Redsmin (Redsmin Enterprise version)

Redsmin Enterprise is Redsmin on your private network

Enterprises may want to use Redsmin without exposing their Redis instances to the world.

Redsmin Enterprise could then be a virtual machine (a Virtual Appliance) pluggable into the enterprise local network and only accessible from inside.

Because it will be a standalone enterprise version, this plan will be way more expensive than the SaaS version and won't be available before mid-2016.

If you are interested by it, just post a comment with your own requirements and we will contact you as soon as we have something on this matter.

  10. Client List Usability Improvements

    Hi Guys,

wanted to start off by saying, its an incredible product that you have built. I really like using it.
A few suggestions that would make it simpler to debug:
    1) When scrolling down the client list - column headers (name, agent, idle etc..) should stay in place

    2) Ability to filter by any column - hence it easier to find what you are looking for and hopefully will also reduce the page load time at the same time.

    Thanks

  11. Upgrade the LUA tools

Hey guys redsmin has been extremely helpful in getting my lua scripts up and running but two things I would like to suggest:
    1) Have the log files scroll to the bottom automatically or reverse the order
    2) Have an option of clearing the logs
    3) Would be great to run MONITOR in a separate pane to monitor the output of 'echo' calls OR pipe those back into the log.

  12. Only display available databases in selector

Hey, it would be nice if only the available databases are displayed in the selector. You could read the value from the redis config and adjust the available database numbers. Would be pretty awesome and easy to implement. :)

  13. Add grouping and manage users / alerts / permissions at the group level

Similar to how mongo monitoring works. Simple drop down at the top that lets you switch between monitoring groups (dev/test/prod for example) Each group has it's own users and alert settings. Big picture monitoring charts for each instance are on the main page so you can get an overview of your environment and then you can drill down into an instance to get more detailed information.

  14. add latency / doctor functionality

Along with the great slowlog, add some more functionality to help in setting up/debugging instances... I wont get into too much detail as the methods are already known and employed by most of us, but having a tool that checks up on things and employs a nice gui to show problems/possible solutions etc would be great...

  15. Metric comparison

A way to compare current/past values. My suggestion is a checkbox (this exists in newrelic), which shows instead of the regular graph, 3 lines "current, yessterday, lastweek".

This is useful to see trends, and also useful to have these 3 as comparing Monday to Sunday traffics might be wrong in many cases...

  16. Support Pub/Sub operation

Currently i'm working on real time notification app (https://github.com/GeniusesOfSymfony/NotificationBundle) who deal with redis pub/sub to handle real time notification.

I don't find a way to monitor pub/sub operation via your application, it can be usefull because the usage of pub/sub is a critical part (handle high concurrent request, run in infinite loop on server side)

Let me know what do you think !

  17. Setting to always expand "Large value double click to expand"

All of the values for the keys I'm selecting are "Large values". To browse my entries I click three times: one to select key, two to double click to expand.

Please have a setting to always expand large values or a setting to specify a size threshold for what defines a "large" value.

You are definitely right but what do you mean by “large value” ? Are we talking about string with a size of ~1000 chars, or string with a size of ~10000 chars ? What is the average string size ? And what would be the best user-interface for displaying them?

  19. [Settings] Specify key finder search scope

[we would like a] "setting to disable the usage of "" in key searches. If we search for "" in a big production database, this locks the database for several minutes in the worst case and sinks our production system
    completely."
