An error occurred while saving the comment AdminBruce (Founder, Redsmin) commentedHello Johann,
Great idea! Pub/Sub is currently not our top priority, so I won't be able to you an E.T.A for it.
To be frank, all our workforce is currently focused on Redsmin Enterprise & Redsmin Monitoring/Alerting v2, once this is one, we will see if Pub/Sub integration can be make it or not, I will keep you posted for sure! -

It's definitely easy for the direct server to create a second channel for psubscribing on demand.> Most of the messages that get published are JSON strings.
Good news, no need for us to implement a reader for each message format> Being able to see a "live stream" of the messages coming through the channel would be cool,
It would be cool yes, but if you publish 10 000msg/s, Redsmin won't be able to display them in the UI and thus a backpressure must be set up> as would continuous monitoring of the size and volume of the messages.
We are currently rewriting from scratch our monitoring service and then we will work on a new alerting service. I forward to our team your request on that matter.> Persistence of the actual messages would be cool option, but that might be more demanding on the Redsmin servers.
Indeed that would be outside Redsmin feature-set :) -

Yes, of course we won't use the keys command but do your sampling with the SCAN command instead.AdminBruce (Founder, Redsmin) shared this idea · -

An error occurred while saving the comment AdminBruce (Founder, Redsmin) commentedDuplicate:
"Redis is not strong at security yet (at least for now) so most of companies will enable IP-whitelist as one of their security features, and normally they only allow within private ip range. Therefore, we should support on premise solution that allow customer to install redsmin locally. If redsmin does not want to handle whole installation package and wants to keep control of the source, having HTTP/TCP prox server to proxy request back to redsmin servers would be ideal solution."

You are definitely right but what do you mean by “large value” ? Are we talking about string with a size of ~1000 chars, or string with a size of ~10000 chars ? What is the average string size ? And what would be the best user-interface for displaying them?

An error occurred while saving the comment AdminBruce (Founder, Redsmin) commentedSome tools already do a great job, did you try https://github.com/Redsmin/redis-tool#zlist-size or even https://github.com/sripathikrishnan/redis-rdb-tools ?
Tools like rdb-tools are better at this thing because they don't have to send requests to Redis to scan the database.
I will keep this feature request in a corner just in case someone else would want something similar.
@rnasser the exports is currently done client-side so we don't retain any data :)
